As an essential part of Chinese teaching,cultural teaching always accompanies the language teaching.The purpose of language learning is to improve learners' communicative competence,which requires to understand the cultural meaning of the target language.Chinese traditional festivals are important carriers of cultural transmission and inheritance,bearing the profound cultural connotations.Chinese traditional festivals,as an important part of China's history and culture,have experienced a long process of development,accumulating diverse forms and rich cultural resources.The four traditional Chinese festivals: the Spring Festival,Qing Ming Festival,Dragon Boat Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival condense the essence of the traditional Chinese culture.This thesis starts with the four traditional Chinese festivals to investigate and analyze the learners' cognition towards Chinese traditional festival at the Eastern Language and Business Center,with the questionnaire survey research methods.On the basis of the overall situation and development tendency of the Chinese teaching in Myanmar,the suggestions on how to promote the international communication of Chinese cultural,strengthen the cultural teaching of Myanmar and facilitate teaching for Burmese Chinese learners are made.The full text is divided into five chapters.Chapter One introduction,mainly elaborates the research background and the significance of topics,and gives a briefing on the subject of research.Chapter Two focuses on the theoretical research of Chinese traditional festivals and cultural teaching,and the analysis of the current situation of Chinese teaching in Myanmar.Chapter Three is the survey design for Chinese learners of the Eastern Language and Business Center and investigates and analyzes the festival cognition of Chinese learners from four aspects: cognition breadth,cognition depth,cognition channels and teaching methods.Chapter Four puts forward suggestions on culture teaching aiming at the cognition status of Chinese traditional festivals of Myanmar Chinese learners.The last chapter is the conclusion,which reviews the whole thesis,reflects on the shortcomings of the thesis,and puts forward directions for future research.
