The compulsory education English curriculum standards(2011)was proposed that the primary English course's task in the stage of basic education is to inspire and cultivate students' interests in learning English.Meanwhile,it can make students establish self-confidence,develop the good habits of learning and master effective learning strategies as well as develop students' autonomous learning abilities.In recent times,with the knowledge constantly updated,lifelong learning is required.Therefore,the school pays more attention to cultivating students' learning enthusiasm and promoting students' active learning.The quality education advocated by the national education policy is abstract,while the appreciation education can be a bridge between modern education and quality education.Appreciation education is educational way that obtains from the practice.It can give the guidance in specific teaching.The emotional interaction between teachers and students gives students comprehensive guidance.In the process of application of appreciation education,60 students were the subjects who were divided into two classes in five class as the experimental class and control class.This research has used both the qualitative analysis method and the quantitative analysis method.There were questionnaires,scores,interview and observation to analyze whether application of appreciation education can improve the interests of students,whether application of appreciation education can improve the students' autonomous learning abilities,whether application of appreciation education can improve the scores of students.The research questions are as follows:Question 1: Can appreciation education improve students' interests in learning English?Question 2: Can appreciation education improve students' autonomous learning ability?Question 3: Can appreciation education improve students' English performance?The result of experiment through comparative analysis of questionnaires and scores showed that appreciation education can improve the interests of students and students' autonomous learning abilities.Meanwhile,the English scores can be improved.In the research,the experimental sample size was small,so appreciation education needed further improvement.
