A Practise Report On Guide Interpreting At Yunnan Ethnic Village

Since the proposal of “belt and road” initiative,Yunnan has witnessed rapid growth and dramatic changes as the gateway facing South and Southeast Asia.Dozens of tourist spots attract millions of people from around the world to visit Yunnan each year.In the second year of his graduate study,the author escorted a group of Jamaican officials on a tour to Yunnan Ethnic Village and provided tour-guide interpreting service.This report is based on this interpreting task.This report consists of five parts.The first part introduces the interpreting background and the significance of the interpreting task.The second part is interpreting process which covers interpreting preparation,assessment and feedback from clients.The third part introduces the Interpretive Theory of Translation.The fourth part is case studies which analyze problems that emerged in the interpreting process and propose coping strategies from the perspective of interpretive theory.The last part is summary and reflections.The author hopes this report will be helpful and meaningful for those study interpreting or those are interested in tour-guide interpreting.
