A Practice Report On Guide Interpreting For Israeli Tour Group

This practice report is based on the interpreting practice when the author was in internship in China International Travel Service(Gansu)as a guide interpreter.The author accompanied an Israeli inbound tour group to various scenic spots and historical relics,including Mingsha Hill,Crescent Moon Spring,Mogao Grottoes,Jiayuguan Pass,Giant Buddha Temple and so on.In the interpreting task,the author interpreted tour commentaries on-the-spot and along the way made by tour guides to the Israeli tourists.By combining Skopostheorie with the author's social practice,this report focuses on the description of the whole guide interpreting process starting from pre-task preparation to the post-task case analysis as well as the application of Skopostheorie and its guiding significance for this interpreting task.The report contains five parts.Part one introduces the basic information of the task.Part two describes the interpreting task in details and the requirements from the entrusting party.Part three is a description of the entire task starting from pre-task preparation to post-task feedback.As the core part,case analysis focuses on some typical cases under the guidance of Skopostheorie.The author mainly sums up findings,limitations and implications for future study in conclusion.By being exposed to this real interpreting task,the interpreter's understanding of Skopostheorie and the application of interpreting strategies are deepened,which is helpful for future work.
