Exploration For Values Of Middle Road Of The Xishan Ancient Road From The Prospective Of Cultural Routes

Recent years,academic circle has done multifaceted and multi-dimension studies on cultural routes.In terms of the Ancient West Beijing Road,the studies on its spatial structure and cultural function were quiet comprehensive,especially for Miaofeng Mountain ancient road in West Beijing Road system.However,Studies were not comprehensive on the Middle Road of the Xishan Ancient Road,which is a significant road of the Ancient West Beijing Road in Mentougou district.It's universally acknowledged that the core idea for studies on cultural routes is overall protection,thus integrating all the historical and cultural resource around the road and analyses its historical and cultural values according to the idea”overall protection” are of great significance,but the majority of recent cultural routes studies were not reflect the idea.Before writing the paper,I had refereed to plenty of historical documents and investigated the road for three times,which brought out abundant information and data to me.The material clue of the paper is the Middle Road of the Xishan Ancient Road and the spiritual one is the history of coal industry of the road.The core content of the paper are historical and cultural resources around of the road,the main theoretical basis is the 2008 Cultural routes charter.The objects of studies are the natural and cultural surroundings,the spatial structure,the history,the surrounded historical and cultural resources.On the basis of the analysis for aforementioned objects,the paper integrated historical and cultural values of the road and propose some preliminary strategies for the preservation of the road in the light of its current state and the distribution characteristics of its related resources.In view that the production and the delivery of coal were primary functions of the road,coalrelated resources were regraded as the essence and the research focus of its historical and cultural resources system.Because of the profound influences natural and geological surroundings brought to the forming of the concept” cultural routes”,the geological resources was included as a type of historical and cultural resource.Based on the statistics and analysis of the spatial distribution of various resources,the paper essentially straighten up their spatial distributional patterns and some regions these resources clustered in.As cross-cultural value is the core value for cultural routes,the paper constructed a historical and cultural valuesystem centered around cultural value and discussed diachronic distributional regulations of cultural functional resources of the road.After writing the paper,I acutely aware that the historical information of some villages located in mined out area were of scarcity in data collecting process of the writing,which requires improve in future study.
