A Practice Report On Textual Cohesion And Coherence In Chinese Translation Of Indonesia In A Reforming World Economy Under The Strategies Of The Adaptation Theory

This paper is based on some chapters of Trade Diplomacy Transformed: Why Trade Matters for Global Prosperity as practical Chinese translation.From the perspective of language explicitation in translation and in view of translation problems found in translation practice,the author adopts corresponding strategies of language explicitation as solutions to explore the effectiveness and practical value of the selected strategies.The focus of translation practice is mainly on language explicitation in three levels: grammar level,semantic level and discourse level.Through analysis and induction,the problems of language explicitation found in the initial translation and review are defined as: the grammatical level of tense,voice and number are inconsistent;On the semantic level,there are differences in semantic implication and understanding of proper nouns.At the discourse level,the implications of logical relations,referential cohesion and substitutional cohesion are unclear.Aiming at the translation problems at the grammatical level,the solution of language explicitation is to increase the tense mark and convert the voice.Aiming at the translation problems of semantic translation,contextualization,annotation of proper nouns,addition and sentence extension are adopted as the solutions of language explicitation.To solve the problem of text translation,logical relationship manifestation,referential cohesion and substitutional cohesion are adopted as the solutions of language explicitation.Case analysis and practice summary show that the relevant strategies of language explicitation have certain effectiveness on the translation of trade diplomacy texts.And the quality of translation has been significantly improved.the writer hopes to provide reference for the translation practice which has the same kind of text.
