Music terminology is an indispensable part of the composer's creation of musical works. It is also an important means for composers to clarify their creative ideas, and it is the most important reference basis for the performers to understand and handle the musical image and emotional characteristics of the work. But many piano learners pay little attention to music terminology. They clarify the works simply from the literal meaning of the terminology, without thinking deeply and digging into the reasons why composers use the music terminology here and the meaning behind it.Hence,it is possible that performers fail to accurately express the composer's creative intentions. This research takes French composer Faure's "Nocturne OP33.NO3" as the research object, and combines the auther's personal experience of performance to classify and summarize the work through four aspects: speed marks, strength mark, expression terminology and playing mark. The research aims to investigate the characteristic of music terminology in practical application in Faure's work.Through this study,we can enrich our understanding of the related theories of music terminology, deepen our understanding of Faure's works, and effectively improve the players' actual performance level. The current research can provide a reference for the performers to learn Faure's piano works in the future, and in this way the players can interpret Faure's musical works more accurately.
