The huns regime was the most influential minority regime in the western han dynasty.Since there is no clear record of its population in the literature handed down from generation to generation, scholars who study this issue basically start from the perspective of army Numbers and study the population of huns. The most reliable data in the historical records is the statistics of military achievements of the western han dynasty.By using the military statistics of hexi war,we can calculate the population of huns evil king and fu tu king.Through combing the xiongnu official system, xiongnu officials actually have titles, official posts, wan qianchang three identities.Through the analysis of the records of huns evil king and Hugh tu king,we can determine their official positions. Then the relationship between the population of huns evil king and the population of hutu king and the total population of huns in the period of yizhiyeshanyu was found out,and the population of huns in the period of yizhiyanshanyu was about 1.5 million.Due to the low reliability of the records,it is impossible to calculate the accurate number of the population of huns in the period of modu khan. The number of people in the huns civil war period can be calculated by adding up the number of soldiers in the various huns departments during the civil war, which is at most 750,000.
