This article inspected the history of the Nanjing Communist Party and the first party consolidation movement in Nanjing in the early days of the founding of the Communist Party of China. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War,the Nanjing Underground Party rebuilt its institutions and development organizations and launched an underground struggle to welcome the establishment of the new regime. In April 1949,Nanjing,the capital of the Republic of China, took over for the Chinese army and the underground party. Both sides cooperate with each other, but also have conflicts due to differences in personnel distribution, takeover policies, and differences in work, living habits, and treatment.Chen Xiuliang, the former secretary of the Nanjing Underground Party Committee, bears the brunt of the contradictions and conflicts between the Southward Party and the Underground Party. The high-level central government actually relies on the southward army to manage the cities in the new area, and the southward cadres dominate the new party and government institutions. The Nanjing underground party, which is a party to the contradiction, was suspected and blamed. The East China Bureau and the cadres heading south determined that the great development of the Nanjing Underground Party from the end of 1948 to the beginning of 1949 had led to its “impure organization”.Under the direction of the East China Bureau, the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee, led by foreign cadres, launched a party consolidation campaign against the underground party. This is the first local party consolidation in the new district in the early days of the Communist Party of China. It is also a party consolidation specifically for underground parties, reflecting certain characteristics of the establishment of a new regime in the new district.
