A Report On The Translation Of Excerpt From Construction Safety Manual

This thesis is a translation report about Construction Safety Manual(excerpt),which mainly covers construction specifications and processes of different construction sections.Because of the launching of “The Belt and Road”,an increasing number of China's construction companies begin to go abroad and engage in the construction projects of B&R countries,which inevitably requires the exchanges among architects and workers in the field of architecture.In such a background,the author chooses architecture English material as his translation practice,and writes a translation report to describe the actual problems encountered in the translation practice.It is hoped that the practice and the report can improve the author's translation competence and provide reference for the exchanges and study in the field of architecture.This report includes four chapters: task description,process description,case analysis and conclusion.The first chapter introduces the content of the selected material and the significance and purpose of the translation practice.In the second chapter,the author makes a detailed introduction to pre-translation preparations,theoretical support,and problems met in the translation process.Then the author in the third chapter carries out case analysis at lexical,syntactic and textual level under the guidance of communicative translation theory.Finally,experience and lessons gained from the translation practice are introduced in the last part.
