Entering the 20 th century, the world's globalization degree has improved into a higher level, including politics, economy and culture. With the high demand of the market, various translation forms come into being.Among the different translation forms, literary translation as an important part promotes the exchange and communication of different cultures. This paper selects the first and the second chapters of The Girl from Krakow.Under the guidance of the Skopos theory, this report explains and analyzes the translation from three basic rules.Under the guidance of the skopos rule, methods such as amplification and omission are adopted to realize the communicative function of translation.Under the guidance of the coherence rule, the author analyzes the examples from three aspects that are merging and division, reorganization, and voice and tense to make the translation coherent.According to the fidelity rule, literal translation and free translation are adopted to make the translation faithful to the original text.Through this translation practice, under the guidance of the Skopos theory, the author tries to solve the problems related to faithfulness, conciseness and coherence in translation so as to reproduce the cultural connotation of the original text and conform to the characteristics of Chinese. Finally, the author hopes that this practice report can provide experience and lessons for the author's future translation work, and provide some reference for the translation of similar texts.
