The only way for most jazz musicians to learn jazz is to practice all kinds of scales and chords. For example: basic major minor scale, seven modes scale, blues scale, pentatonic scale, semitone scale, and some more complex like bepop scale, diatonic scale, incremental scale, altered scale, etc. But musicians often have no way to start after finishing a lot of different scale exercises. They don't know how to use it in their improvisation,or how to make the sentences sound easy and effortless.Different scales are equal to different sentence colors. On the same chord in the same tune, the use of different scales in the process of repeated improvisation has enriched the colors of our improvisation sentences invisibly. This paper aims at the diministed scale, which has a very high frequency of use, powerful function, but is more complex, and many musicians think it is "tricky",comprehensively, clearly and succinctly arranges the use of the scale in jazz improvisation, the correspondence between the diminished chord and the dominant chord and the diminished scale, the improvisation method and the mode of the scale, including a lot of demonstration and experience a case study of diminished scale in classical music.Through practice,I believe it will bring the most intuitive ideas and ideas to our improvisation or personal music creation.
