The thesis is a report on the translation of a part of the book,Stylistic Approaches to Translation.The writer of the book is Boase-Beier.In this thesis,the author introduces Jindi's Theory of Equivalent Effect which indicates the objective of translation is to seek functional equivalence rather than formal equivalence.With the guidance of this theory and the classification of text types,this report is based on the chapter five of the Stylistic Approaches to Translation to analyze the translation strategies.
