A Study Of “The Three Kingdoms” And Kazakh Translation From A Cultural Translation Concept Perspective

The Romance of the Three Kingdoms is a well-known historical epic novel in China.Its strong circulation and influence make this work popular among people.The novel is set historically in the time of the disintegration of the Han dynasty(from around AD 184 to 280).The story – part historical,part legend,and part mythical – tells the lives of feudal lords and their retainers,who tried to replace the dwindling Han dynasty or restore it.The novel The Romance of the Three Kingdoms does not only contain a variety of vocabularies with the cultural characteristics of that time but also includes a large number of classic poems.The novel with the extraordinary storyline,colorful characters and fierce military battles has influenced the development of Chinese literature and art.After being translated into multiple languages,it has further promoted the spread of Chinese culture.Aizmuhan Texian and AbuDubek Babolatof jointly translated and published the Kazakh translation of the novel The Romance of the Three Kingdoms in 1981.The publication of the Kazakh translation of The Romance of the Three Kingdoms,one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature,has added a great contribution to the translation of Chinese minority languages ??and literatures.It has also contributed to the broadening of Chinese culture to a certain extent,and has enriched the development of minority languages ??and literature in China.This thesis analyzes the translation strategies,methods,and techniques adopted by the translators from a cultural translation concept perspective.It explored the linguistic characteristics of content translation under a poor internet and lack of references circumstance of that time.The study aims to make its contribution to the translation of Chinese minority languages.The thesis contains three parts: introduction,body of the text and conclusion.The introduction part mainly analyzes the purpose,value,research status,research trends and research methods of this thesis.The first chapter is the Original Works of Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Kazakh Translation,which explains the literary value of the novel and the research value of the translation.It introduces the main content of the novel The Romance of the Three Kingdoms,the introduction of the author and the translators,the language characteristics of the original and the translated works to explain the literary value of the novel The Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the research value of the translation.The second chapter is Cultural Translation and Illustration on Kazakh Translation Version.The first part of this chapter introduces the main points and the core content of the cultural translation concept,which provides a scientific and feasible theoretical support for the thesis.The second part focuses on the explanation of cultural vocabulary,titles ofepisodes,and poem examples in the Kazakh translation version.After classification,it systematically analyzes and explores the translation methods used in the Kazakh translation version with a focus on cultural translation.The third chapter is The Romance of the Three Kingdoms Kazakh Translation Strategy and Translation Method.This chapter classifies the translation strategies and methods used in the Kazakh translation version and gives some examples.It also compares and analyzes the sensed value in both original and translated versions,explores the difficulties and translation strategies and methods that translators used for countermeasures.The fourth chapter is A Review of the Kazakh translation of The Romance of the Three Kingdoms.This chapter mainly describes the translation evaluation and translation features of the Kazakh translation version.The rest chapter starts from the perspective of cultural translation,explains the key points that need to be paid attention to in the translation process,discusses how to further improve the translation in quality and the revelation,and concludes the inspiration from the translation of literary works.Finally,the conclusion part summarizes the main points of the thesis.
