With the reform and development of the new curriculum,the reform of English teaching in primary schools has gradually become a topic widely discussed in the education community.Role-playing method,as a communicative teaching method,was introduced to China in the 1980 s.The 2011 Compulsory Education Curriculum Standard requires students to be able to perform simple role performances;to perform short stories or short dramas with the help of teachers.Among them,"learning to sing","role performance","mini-drama" and other dramatic context words have been mentioned,indicating that the important role of "role-playing" in primary English teaching has aroused widespread concern in society.However,through the observation of the English classroom in the elementary school during the teaching period,the author found that under the pressure of further studies,role-playing methods are mostly in the form of primary English teaching.Therefore,how the teacher understands the role-playing method,how to use the role-playing method,and whether there are problems to be solved in the process of using the role-playing method have become the research questions of the author.The research methods used in this study are literature method,questionnaire survey method,interview survey method and classroom observation method.First of all,after collecting and sorting out the literature,the concept of role-playing is defined,and the value,type and operation steps of role-playing in primary English teaching are expounded on the basis of related theories.Secondly,design survey questionnaires,compile interview outlines,design classroom observation scales,and conduct in-depth research in various primary schools.Finally,the collected data was sorted and analyzed,and it was found that teachers lacked the theoretical knowledge of role-playing methods.Teachers mainly lacked awareness of teaching design in implementation,ignored academic analysis,insufficient teaching preparation,and imperfect teaching process.And low level of application.The main problems in theevaluation stage are that the evaluation subject is single and ignores the autonomy of the students;the evaluation content emphasizes the use of language and neglects the cultivation of emotional attitudes;the evaluation method is monotonous and superficial;the evaluation standards are more subjective and casual.Finally,in terms of teaching evaluation,the awareness of teaching evaluation and reflection is weak;the frequency of teaching evaluation and reflection is low.Finally,the reasons are further analyzed based on the above issues.Finally,based on the comprehensive analysis of theory and empirical analysis,the author puts forward corresponding teaching improvement suggestions for the problems found,and provides some help and inspiration to teachers who love primary school English teaching.First of all,in terms of deepening teachers' understanding of role-playing methods,teachers must continuously learn the theoretical knowledge of role-playing methods;systematically develop teaching tools related to role-playing methods.Secondly,in improving the awareness and ability of teaching design,we attach importance to experience and learning;expand extracurricular resources and create screenplays;enrich teaching preparation and stimulate learning interest.Third,increase the number of role-playing methods used by teachers to increase the level of role-playing methods.Add English extension courses to extend the teaching time of role-playing methods;flexibly use the types of role-playing methods;improve teaching efficiency and improve the teaching of role-playing methods Process;attach importance to the guidance of student performance;change the group form to increase student autonomy;enhance teacher-student communication,and perform together.Finally,in terms of enhancing the awareness and ability of teaching evaluation,we attach importance to the diversity of evaluation subjects and increase students' subjectivity;the diversity of evaluation methods,the combination of material rewards and spiritual rewards;the establishment of diverse value standards,and the value of emotional attitudes and values to cultivate.
