A Report On Translation Of Excerpts From A Transformer Tender Document

This translation report is written by the author based on the analysis,reflection and summary of the translation of A Transformer Tender Document.Translation Quality Assessment is an important constituent part of the pragmatic translatology.And in a very long period,there have been no objective criteria to judge the quality of a translation text but some subjective opinions from translation reviewers.However,the introduction of the model for TQA presents a resolution to the problem because this model is systematic and comprehensive in assessing the translation quality,presenting the problems of the translation thus improving the translation level.Therefore,J.House’s model for TQA is applied to guide the translation practice with the practical theory for a better translation.This practice report is divided into three parts.Chapter One is the task description,mainly presenting the background of this translation practice,significance and objectives of the task and the structure of the report.Chapter Two is the process description,which mainly includes pre-translation preparation,theoretical preparation and the three aspects of filed,tenor and mode of TQA model which discusses the features of the source text.Chapter Three is the case analysis where a comparison between the source text and target text is made and then the revision on the previous translation is proposed.The last part is the summary of this translation practice,recollecting and reorganizing the shortcomings in the whole process of this practice as well as indicating the improvements in the future.
