Interpreting activities can largely promote communication and exchanges between people of different linguistic background. In these activities, interpreters play an important role.In this report, the author will focus on the problems encountered and the coping tactics used during the author's interpreting practice at the 2019Program for Young Leaders from Pacific Islands Countries, thus finding more strategies to promote her interpreting skills and give references to future interpreting workers. The interpreting practice was on 22nd August,2019.Young leaders from Pacific Islands countries gathered in Guangzhou, shared experience on development with China and aimed to devote to the development of their own countries.Based on a study of the cases of the author's interpreting performance, two kinds of problems are concluded as follows:linguistic problems and non-linguistic problems. The former ones include unknown terms and syntactic errors while the latter ones include unclear notes and external disturbances. And three coping tactics are proposed as follows:restructuring, explanation and omission. The author hopes that through analyzing this interpreting practice, she can conclude some experience in interpreting and offer references to the future interpreting workers.
