With the rise of the “Chinese fever” in Sri Lanka,more and more Sri Lankans are beginning to learn Chinese.Language is the carrier of culture.The process of learning language also inevitably learns the cultural knowledge behind the language.As one of the important components of culture,folk culture is deeply hidden in people's daily life and closely related to people's lives.At present,folk culture teaching in Sri Lanka's teaching Chinese as a foreign language is generally based on traditional classroom teaching.Due to the limitations and limitations of traditional classroom teaching,new teaching models and effective methods are urgently needed to carry out folk culture teaching.Based on the theory of experience teaching,this paper combines the author's teaching experience at the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka and explores the specific application of experience teaching in the teaching of Chinese folk culture.The paper discusses the basic concepts,theoretical basis,characteristics and specific methods of experience teaching.And paper introduces the content and teaching methods of the teaching of Chinese folk culture and the application value of experiential teaching in the teaching of Chinese folk culture.This paper also analyzes the use of folk culture teaching and teaching materials in the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka.Based on that,the paper carries out the design and implementation of the traditional classroom teaching and experience teaching of Chinese folk culture,then doing the record of teaching so as to compare two different types of teaching,summing up the advantages and disadvantages of experience teaching.To know more advantages of experience teaching in Chinese folk culture teaching.The last part summarizes the enlightenment of experience teaching applied to the classroom of Chinese folk culture and the significance of students.It points out the problems and shortcomings of experience teaching in the application process,and proposes relevant teaching suggestions.
