The performed culture approach is a kind of second language teaching method that enables learners to experience and practice the language in the real language cultural environment,so that learners can grasp grammar knowledge,build language knowledge system,understand the cultural customs and thinking habits of the target language countries.So it can achieve the goal of effective social communication and improve the ability of language communication.The approach is founded by Professor Wu Weike and applied to the Chinese teaching class of Ohio State University and some short-term Chinese projects in China,such as CLS.Some scholars have realized the importance of the "performed culture approach",but at present,the application and research of this approach are very few.In teaching Chinese as a foreign language,it is the ideal goal for the learners to use Chinese accurately and communicate smoothly and appropriately.Acquiring Chinese culture is also a goal.Based on the performed culture approach,aiming at the problems of primary oral Chinese course,I analyzed the feasibility and applicability of the application of the performed culture approach in the primary oral Chinese course.I analyzed the teaching object and teaching materials,designed and practiced the performed culture approach and showed one class of the teaching materials as an example.At the same time,I took the class of the performed culture approach and the traditional teaching class as the comparison object,the teaching practice has been carried out for half a year.The results show that the performed culture approach is helpful toimprove the learners' ability of oral Chinese expression.It can strengthen the learners' cross-cultural awareness,enhance the ability of cross-cultural communication,help the learners construct the world view of Chinese culture and can achieve the purpose of cultural teaching.It can activate the classroom atmosphere and promote the development of classroom activities.
