Qufu is the hometown of Confucius,a great thinker, educator and founder of Confucianism. There are still a large number of historical sites related to Confucius and his Confucianism in Qufu, among which is the inscription on a stone tablet. It can be said that these inscriptions in Qufu have a long history,a large number of them, and most of them are intact. They are not only an important witness to the development of Confucianism in ancient China over 2,000 years ago,but also an important document to restore the true face of history and study the law of historical development.Nowadays, these inscriptions have also become an important cultural resource for all mankind. In ancient China,Confucianism dominated the ideological field, while traditional China was regarded as Confucian China, and the Qing Dynasty was no exception. The emperors' praise of Confucius and his Confucianism in the Qing Dynasty is considered to be the highest in the ancient history of China. From the Qin and Han Dynasties to the end of the Qing Dynasty, most of the existing imperial tablets in Qufu were carved in the Qing Dynasty, and the most were dedicated to official sacrifice tablets.Apart from the expression of the emperors' admiration for Confucius and Confucianism in the tablets, the number alone can reveal the status of the emperor respecting Confucius and worshiping Confucianism.Of course, the worship of Confucius is not out of the personal preference of the emperors in the Qing Dynasty, but has a profound political background and practical significance. They expressed their respect for Confucianism from many aspects, such as ceremonious Confucian temple sacrifices,be kind to the descendants of Confucius, and advocating Confucian orthodoxy. While consolidating the mainstream position of Confucianism, they ultimately aimed to prove the legitimacy of their own rule. The legitimacy of his rule was the primary reason for the Qing Dynasty rulers to worship Confucianism. This kind of passive choice soon became the active cultural policy of the emperors in the Qing Dynasty. With the deepening of the understanding and understanding of the way of Confucius, the emperors in the Qing Dynasty deeply realized that only Confucianism could carry out effective national governance. In a word, the combination of Confucianism and political power,on the one hand, isconducive to better demonstrate the legitimacy of one's own rule,on the other hand,it is also conducive to the promotion and dissemination of Confucianism and the promotion of Confucius and Confucianism, the two complement each other and develop together. The limit of Qing Dynasty tablet inscriptions in Qufu can not fully show the picture of Confucianism in the whole Qing Dynasty, but they can also reflect a lot of information from one side.By systematically combing and studying the tablet inscription materials and combining with the relevant historical materials, the essential characteristics behind the phenomenon are deeply explored. This will help us to understand the internal relationship between the rulers of the Qing Dynasty and Confucius and his Confucianism,so as to have a deeper understanding of the development of the society and Confucianism in the Qing Dynasty.
