Study On Chinese Character Writing Bias Of Cambodian Students In The Preliminary Stage

As a volunteer Chinese teacher,the author has found,under her tenure,that the most difficult part in the process of learning Chinese for Cambodians students is writing Chinese characters.Therefore,teachers should find out the methods of teaching Chinese characters which are surely fit on the students.This paper takes the students with basic level in Asia Euro university in Cambodia as the objects of the study and collects the students' homework,test papers and compositions for corpus database.The study is trying to find out how the regularity in writing bias takes place by statistical analysis of sample errors in writing Chinese characters.Combined with the results of the questionnaire which is about the students actual circumstance of learning Chinese characters,the paper will conclude the various reasons which make the errors happen and put forward the relevant suggestions for helping the students in this level improve the ability to writing Chinese characters correctly.This paper consists of six parts.The first part is about the reason,purpose,meaning research status and research methods.The second part is summarizing the Chinese characters teaching status according to the questionnaire about the actual circumstance of learning Chinese characters.The third part is collecting the various errors of writing Chinese characters and dividing them into incorrect characters level and misused characters level.The fourth part is taking efforts on analyzed the reasons collected before,mainly concluding three factors: Chinese characters,students and teachers.The fifth part is putting forward some relevant advice in Chinese characters teaching in terms of teacher and students.this study is end up with the last part which is about indicating the innovation points and the deficiencies.
