In teaching Chinese as a foreign language,the role of Chinese teaching materials has always been prominent.Especially in the non-target language environment(the non-target language environment referred to in this article is the Polish language environment,where the medium of instruction is English),the first resource for learners to contact Chinese is the textbook.Since the establishment of the Chinese Department of the Faculty of Far and Near East Relations at Jagiellonian University in Poland,"New Practical Chinese Reader ?"(first edition)has been designated as Chinese textbook for the department until now.This textbook is especially important for students and teachers of Jagiellonian University,which must have its outstanding advantages worth using.However,under the premise that the designated textbook cannot be replaced,in order to make the "New Practical Chinese Reader ?" more suitable for the development of the times and the needs of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,the content of the "New Practical Chinese Reader ?" must be enriched and improved.This article focuses on the text conversation study of "New Practical Chinese Reader?" based on the Chinese teaching practice at Jagiellonian University.At the same time,based on the theory of Chinese appropriateness and interactive linguistics from the perspective of linguistics,it analyzes the richness,appropriateness and interaction characteristics of the text conversation of "New Practical Chinese Reader ?".In the richness part,by comparing "HSK Standard Course I","Contemporary Chinese ?" and'New Practical Chinese Reader ?"(third edition),it is pointed out that the richness of the topics of "New Practical Chinese Reader ?" can satisfy learners' needs and the topic is real,rich and credible.However,based on the questions raised by students in teaching,this article elaborates on some sub-topics that still need to be supplemented in order to meet the Chinese needs of students in the new era as much as possible.In the part of appropriateness,through analyzing the improper phenomena in conversational pronunciation,vocabulary and grammar,and the confirmation of "New Practical Chinese Reader ?"(third Edition),it is clear that appropriate characteristics of the text conversation should be emphasized in a non-target language environment conversation.At the same time,combining students' typical errors,corresponding solutions are proposed to optimize the shortcomings of this part.In the interactive feature part,this article focuses on the context and turn of the text conversation,analyzes the interactive features it embodies,and draws the conclusion that the text conversation of "New Practical Chinese Reader ?",has interactive features as a whole and this textbook is conducive to cultivating the communication skills of Chinese learners.However,in order to make the textbook better to meet the needs of the real Chinese environment,it is still necessary to optimize the deficiencies in the situation and turn.Therefore,this article puts forward specific problem-solving strategies based on the actual situation of teaching.This article uses research methods such as literature collection,comparative analysis,and case analysis.It clearly points out that even in a non-target language environment where teachers cannot change the designated textbooks,they can still analyze the richness,appropriateness and interactive characteristics of text conversations,using newer and better theories to optimize foreign Chinese teaching materials to meet the further needs of teaching.To a certain extent,the research in this article can provide some permissible suggestions and solutions to problems for Chinese teachers who will use this textbook to teach in Jagiellonian University.
