Now China has fully entered the era of consumption.By the influence of the culture of consumption,the creation motivation and intention of metropolis films have changed,and the status of audiences has been improved unprecedentedly.The content of metropolis films has also changed.Various phenomena arising from the culture of consumption are directly presented in metropolis films,making metropolis films the carrier of spreading the culture of consumption.In recent years,the phenomenon of new metropolis films has shown distinct characteristics of the culture of consumption.In the new metropolis film,the construction of urban space relies on the prosperity of economy and the rise of culture of consumption.Skyscrapers,abundant commodities and various consumption places create various landscapes of contemporary urban space,and constitute a materialized world.Urban space has become a space of culture of consumption,which is symbolized and fashionable,and gives the audience a kind of visual satisfaction and stimulation.Its essence is to create a visual consumption illusion for the audience,and stimulate the desire and imagination of the underclass or ordinary groups outside the city to the prosperous city.The culture of consumption influences and restricts the representation of gender in new metropolis films.There are two aspects of women in the film: loss and breakthrough,while some men are under the female vision to meet the aesthetic needs of female audiences.In terms of body presentation,both the female body and the male body have certain phenomenon of being stared;In the aspect of gender temperament shows the characteristic of diversity.Some of the values of new metropolis films are also associated with the culture of consumption.Some films and characters reveal a strong value of material worship,which advocates the supremacy of material interests,makes life more enjoyable and emotion more utilitarian,and has a misleading effect on the audience of teenagers.Some films convey a strong sense of nostalgia,mainly expressed as youth and dream,trying to construct the collective memory of the urban middle class,but there is also a utilitarian consciousness to cater to consumers.This paper studies howthe urban consumer culture influences and constructs the new urban film by using the consumer culture and related theories,so as to explore the relationship between the film's text image and social culture.
