This project focuses on the benchmark for workshop contamination control in Zhejiang Maixing Machinery Co.,Ltd.With the development of the Belt and Road Initiative, the machinery industry in various ways has formed a major part of the global industrial chain in the manufacturing industry.Accompanied by a growing demand for exchanges among different cultures, the rapid development of the industry has been something of a close relation to interpretation and translation. At the same time, the workshop contamination control,as an important part of the machinery industry, has attracted more and more attention.Employed by Zhejiang Maixing Machinery Co.Ltd.,the interpreter took part in the interpreting project on benchmark for workshop contamination control and applied the knowledge and interpreting skills acquired during the past year and solved a serious of problems. The challenges encountered by the interpreter included low level of background knowledge and terminology, poor management of capacity and high complexity of the interpreter's roles.Accordingly, three solutions were put forward. The first is to establish a self-contained glossary and knowledge base. The second is a proper management of processing capacity based on Gile's Effort Model(1995).The third is the awareness of the interpreter's role as a multiple-role-performer with three functions, animator, author and principal locked together. It is hoped that this report can be a reference to the interpreting practice in the field of workshop contamination control.
