The United States is a country with higher level of industrial manufacturing in the world.Its democratic politics and party politics also exert great influence.Original Intents: Hamilton,Jefferson,Madison,and the American Founding presents the different positions and views of the three outstanding political leaders on the political and economic issues in the early development of the United States,and explores the process of the formation of American democracy.The seventh chapter of the book is selected for translation in this project report.Based on the Skopos theory and Reiss 's Text Typology,from the perspectives of words,syntax and discourse,the author carefully analyzes the key and difficult points in her translation practice,mainly including the translation of proper nouns and technical terms,long and difficult sentences,and discourse cohesion.By carefully analyzing the structure of the text and placing great emphasis on the context,making use of parallel text,the author comprehensively uses various translation methods and techniques such as conversion of parts of speech,division and combination,reconstruction and adjustment to solve the above problems.Through this translation practice,the author hopes to effectively improve her translation skills and provide some reference and help for the future translation of historical informative texts.
