Study On The Function Of Clan In Rural Governance

Clan is a community which is built on blood relationship,has a long history in China,is also the most widespread social organization.T village is located in the middle of jiangxi province and has typical representativeness in rural China,especially in the southern rural,is a miniature of native china.This paper used research methods are as follows,case-study approach,literature research method,interview method,historical analysis and comparative research.The main content is to take the T village as the research object and investigate the internal logic of clan in rural governance under the perspective of social governance which focus on the political anthropology discipline.I analyzed the history and the current situation of renaissance of the clan,explored clan's function in the rural governance,tried to integrate and lead the clan,put forward corresponding countermeasure proposal.T village is my hometown,during the process of research,I need to rediscover the T village again.I interviewed some villagers of T village,and also collected relevant information about ancestral temple,genealogy and folk customs,then summarized and arranged all the literature.The purpose of my paper is to respect and protect the clan which actually is the authority of the traditional governance resources,excavate the function and value of clan in rural governance,improve state governance capacity and realize the modernization of governance system,maintain national stability and development,finally realize transformation from rural governance to good governance.Major Innovation of this paper is under the background of contemporary,based on relevant political science and political anthropology's theoretical knowledge and the national perspective,using different research methods to systematically and comprehensively elaborate clan's function in the rural governance,according to the cultural functions of the clan,I provided new inspiration on rural governance.By means of the research about the function of the clan,I found clan plays different roles and has different functions in the rural governance,among them the most outstanding is cultural function,the clan culture become the most powerful way to continue clan's vitality.Besides,the clan of the outside power still has a certain influence in the countryside.The clan has the possibility of realizing its modernization and The clan also matched the rural administrative environment.The clan can complement the power in the system and solve some realistic governance problems for rural governance.Thus,our responsibility is to objectivelly view the phenomenon of China's rural clan,grasp the historical development and realistic significance of clan,give guidance to clan,then it is possible to make the function of clan to be more beneficial to rural governance.
