The Improvemental Strategy Study On Compulsory Isolation Detoxification By Perspective Of Public Service

Since the reform and opening up of China,the number of drug addicts holds at a high level.The Chinese government not only cracked down on drug crimes by carring out a series of anti-drug activities basing on the actual situation,but also worked hard on the activity of drug detoxification.In China,community detoxification,voluntary detoxification,compulsory isolation detoxification,community rehabilitation and drug maintenance treatment are the main drug rehabilitation models.Among the five models,compulsory isolation detoxification is the most popular drug rehabilitation model.Mandatory is the characteristic of compulsory isolation detoxification.To help drug addicts to get rid of drugs,the personal liberty of drug addicts were restricted in compulsory isolation detoxification.However,the effect was always affected by the pressure resulting from the mandatory.Many person in the compulsory isolation detoxification were not on their own accord.A number of drug addicts relapsed after quitting drug addiction.In this study,the basic theory of public service and basic status of detoxification models were discussed basing on the consulting a large amount of literature and related books.To investigate the living status and personal status,we issued questionnaires in the compulsory isolation rehabilitation center.Basing on the result of questionnaire survey,we found some problems and defect of compulsory isolation detoxification.Afterwards,we discussed the parts which need improvement in compulsory isolation detoxification by perspective of Public Service.In addition,we also try to some new ways for drug detoxification except compulsory isolation detoxification.The situation of compulsory isolation detoxification is still serious in China.The defect and problem of the current drug detoxification models have been exposed during the process of drug detoxification.Public service is an important function of the government which also plays important roles in drug detoxification.We should use this function of our government and bring it into the activity of drug detoxification.The drug addicts will have more choice and more social security when they need to get rid of drugs after government using the function of public service.In addition,the government,medical institution,and non-profit organization should be combined to provide more perfect drug detoxification models for the drug addicts and to help more drug addicts to get rid of drugs completely.
