| Along with the globalization,the continuous development of high-tech as well as the family of nations and the deepening and the sublimation,formal in this context,Thailand and China since the 1970’s when the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries has been formed and ever since risen gradually on developing and strengthening economic ties between the two countries,as now China is Thailand’s largest trading partner,Thailand’s degree of dependence on China also gradually rise,as China’s economy,politics and culture,with the rapid development of communication between Thailand and China is more and more close,especially soft power diplomacy in recent years,more and more obvious,China will become the biggest partner of Thailand for many years to come.This thesis mainly based on the study of China’s soft power diplomacy for Thailand,the particular form of soft power diplomacy including political diplomacy,education communication,language,cultural exchange and foreign television broadcasts.Through these activities,we can improve the public opinion environment of the recipient country and improve the image and relationship of the country.Soft power diplomacy main goal is to seek to maximize the interests of the negotiation between countries,Harvard University’s Professor Joseph S.Nye,described "Soft Power" in International Relations theory as the representative figure of new liberalism economics,Nye,first explicitly put forward in the early 1990s that cultural,ideological and political values,and foreign policy of three main components of the soft power.This paper probe into China’s soft power diplomacy for Thailand study,the purpose of the study is to understand the China’s soft power in the 21st century,and how its play role to its foreign policy and its impact on Thailand.Specifically,this study explores the Thailand and China’s established diplomatic relations since 1975,based on economic,political and cultural aspects of communication under the brotherhood relation between the two nations.On the cultural exchange initiative between the two countries as the main diplomatic means,the paper will analysis the relationship between cultural soft power and hard power,soft power diplomacy as to consolidate the theoretical basis;China is analyzed on the concept and basis of Thailand’s soft power diplomacy,soft power is does not need to be implemented by force or take hard measures to make people obey another form of power,but to inspire others voluntary to adjust their behavior,and that the main target of China’s soft power diplomacy to Thailand always focus on building diplomatic,economic relations,trade and the education system;Further analysis of China’s soft power diplomacy to Thailand operations involved the political diplomacy,culture,tourism,education and media,and have been achieved significance.On the cultural aspect,from the overseas Chinese immigrants in Thailand,Thai people are under the influence of Chinese culture,including language,values,customs,and Chinese festivals etc,even the Thai Royal Family also attaches themselves on great importance involvement on studying the Chinese language,art,culture and music.On the tourism industry,China uses soft power policy to spread its language and culture through Chinese tourists,thus enhancing the Thai people’s understanding of Chinese culture and language.Lastly,on education which is the important tool of Thailand’s use of soft power in China,currently,China has enlarged the soft power,by the Confucius Institute of Thailand,continues to provide learning Chinese scholarship within Thailand and China and promotion of cultural and social aspects of the research;Case analysis of China’s soft power in Thailand,Both Nations have high-speed rail construction projects between the two countries to reach an agreement,and to provide financial support to Thailand.Also China made good effort to allow Thailand to join the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank(AIIB),and all aspects of Thailand’s response to China’s soft power diplomacy;Finally,the results of China’s soft power diplomacy in Thailand and the characteristics of China’s soft power diplomacy are further gained. |
