An Empirical Study On College Students' Public Service Motivation In Guangxi

Under the background of “public servant fever,” college students are gradually becoming the main candidates for public sector recruitment.Studying the public service motives and influencing factors of this group will help understand the internal motivation of public sector candidate jobs and provide public sector talents.The selection and assignment of job assignments to provide reference and improve the management methods of human resources in the public sector have strong practical significance.This study is problem-oriented,and combines theoretical studies on the relationship between public service motivation and demographic variables,family economic conditions,and job selection intention of college students in Guangxi.Through summarizing literature on the connotation,structure,measurement,and influencing factors of public service motives,it summarizes and reviews domestic and international research on public service motives.On this basis,the connotation and constituent elements of the public service motive are determined,and a four-dimensional(compassion,self-sacrificing spirit,public interest commitment,and public policy attraction)public service motivation measurement scale including 21 questions is constructed,and a public scale is proposed.Assumptions about the relationship between service motivation and other variables.In an empirical study,SPSS 22.0statistical software was used as a data analysis tool to conduct descriptive statistical analysis,demographic variables,family economic conditions,career intention and public service motives,descriptive statistical analysis,independent sample T test,one-way analysis of variance and related Sexual analysis further explores the relationship between research variables and validates some hypotheses.The results of the study show that: First,the overall public servicemotivation and the various dimensions of college students in Guangxi are differentiated.Second,some demographic variables significantly affect the overall public service motivation and various dimensions;Third,the family economic conditions and overall public services The motivation was not significantly related,but it was significantly positively correlated with compassion dimensions.The better the family economic conditions,the higher the university student's compassion dimension score.Fourth,the public service motives of college students in Guangxi colleges have significant differences in career intentions.Strongly motivated college students tend to work in the public sector after graduation.Based on the results of the study,suggestions are made from the perspectives of expanding the use of public service motivation in human resource management and how to improve the level of public service motivation of undergraduates.
