The battle of Nanchang refers to the battle of the Chinese army in Wuhan Nanchang and its surrounding areas against the Japanese invasion army after the Wuhan war. This campaign was the first major battle after the war of resistance against Japan entered the stalemate. The battle began in March 17,1939 when Japanese forces attacked Wu city.By May 9th,Jiang Jieshi ordered the end of the counterattack against Nanchang, from defense to counterattack, which lasted for 54 days. The battle of Nanchang exposed the problem of the command of the national army and the huge gap between China and Japan.Although the battle of Nanchang ended in the city, the counterattack ended in frustration, but it was of great significance. It made the whole world, especially the Japanese military authorities, realized that although the Japanese army had occupied the three towns of Wuhan,it did not compel the national government to yield, but also failed to attack the main force of the Chinese army, and had not destroyed the will of the war of resistance against the vast majority of the Chinese army and the people. The Chinese army not only continued to carry out the war of resistance, but also started counteroffensive in the campaign area. The first chapter mainly talks about the international situation and domestic situation before the Nanchang conference. The first section is divided into three sections. The first section tells the changes in the international situation: the western countries appeasement policy to Japan for their own interests, the United States continues to play a double friendly identity, the Soviet Union has the heart to help but give up support;the second section tells the bad situation of the domestic environment before the war: the life of the state and the people, the central and the ground. In the third section, the changes in the Japanese army's strategy of invading China, including the reasons for the change and the main points of change, are described in the thirdsection. The second chapter mainly talks about the preparations for Nanchang's pre war Chinese forces. It includes the adjustment of the military and political tactics of the policy of the Kuomintang and outside the Kuomintang, the three sections of the Communist Party of China actively mobilizing the people against Japan before the war and the people actively investing in the Anti Japanese and national salvation activities. The third chapter tells the process of the war in Nanchang, including its force deployment, the process of the war and the results of the war.The fourth chapter analyzes and demonstrates the reasons for the failure of the Nanchang campaign, mainly from the comparison of strength between China and Japan, military quality, strategy and tactics, political strategy and so on.The fifth chapter mainly introduces the significance and lessons of Nanchang campaign. The concluding remarks give a brief summary of the whole article.
