| The symbolic interaction theory belongs to the research field of psychology and sociology.It is essentially the theory about interaction between people and people,or people and the surrounding world.The application of symbolic interaction theory in the field of international politics has been embodied in Wendt’s constructivist view.Wendt believes that the state is an actor with the features of intent,rationality,and interest considerations.“the state is also a person”,which is the assumption that symbolic interaction theory is applied to the international political field.Then,through the study of Mead and Blumer’s symbolic interaction theory,the author has formed an analysis framework about actor interaction.1.The symbolic interaction theory proposes that the existence of the actor interaction is due to the meaning in the interaction process.This is the motivation of the interaction;2.The symbol interaction theory proposes that the actor interaction is a process that keeps changing and continues to face new challenges;3.The symbolic interaction theory proposes that the actor interaction is not a mechanical “stimulus-response” behavior,but a dynamic process.The interaction can be developed in the direction of optimization.Basing on this analysis framework,the author starts the research on the interaction between China and the SCO.Apart from the introduction and conclusion,the text is divided into four parts.In the study of the interactive relationship between China and the SCO,this paper focuses on the perspective of China and studies the motivations,challenges,and new ideas of China’s participation in the SCO.The first part is about the generalization and development of symbolic interaction theory.At first,the author discusses the theoretical sources of symbolic interaction and combs the whole development vein of symbolic interaction theory;Second,referring to Wendt’s constructivist point of view,the author analyzes the feasibility of symbolic interaction applying to the international political arena;Finally,the author further discusses The development of symbolic interaction theory in the field of international politics and puts forward the interactive analysis framework of symbolic interaction theory.The second part is about the motivation for China’ participation in the SCO.The symbolic interaction theory proposes that the existence of the actor interaction is due to the meaning in the interaction process.At this chapter,the author mainly analyzes the motives for the interaction between China and the SCO,and it narrates three aspects: maintaining regional stability and national security,promoting economic development,and enhancing regional and international influence.The third part is about the challenge for China’ participation in the SCO.The symbolic interaction theory proposes that the actor interaction is not a mechanical “stimulus-response” behavior,but a dynamic process,which is followed by different challenges.The author believes that there are three major challenges in the interaction between China and the SCO: 1.China’s identity in the SCO is not clear enough;2.There are contradictions and disagreements among members of the SCO;3.The SCO exists the risk of marginalization.The fourth part is about the new thinking for China’ participation in the SCO.The symbolic interaction theory believes that actor interaction can develop in the direction of optimization.At this chapter,author puts forward some opinions on promoting the optimal development of the interaction between China and the SCO.Firstly,it is necessary to clarify the Interactive identity between China and the SCO,such as equal participants,active builders,and organizational defenders;Secondly,we should speed up the connection between the SCO and the “Belt and Road”;Finally,we should clarify the status of the SCO in China’ diplomatic strategy,and it is important for the SCO to play an exemplary role in China’s neighboring diplomatic strategy. |
