After the Sept.11 attacks, the Bush administration of the United States launched a war in Afghanistan aimed at overthrowing the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. In order to win the war,the United States and Pakistan established an anti-terrorist cooperative relationship. After President Obama took office,he continued his anti-terrorist cooperation with Pakistan. In its first term, the United States adjusted its anti-terrorist policy during the Bush administration and introduced a new National Counter-terrorism Strategy. For Afghanistan and Pakistan,However, the new counter-terrorism strategy has been challenging in the implementation process.Especially after the United States defeated bin Laden, the United States' relationship with Pakistan has fallen to the lowest point since the two countries cooperated in fighting terrorism. After Obama's second term of office,The two countries' relationship of anti-terrorism cooperation has become the issue that must be resolved before the leaders of the two countries.Based on the comprehensive considerations of their respective national interests and other factors, the two countries will continue to regard the other party as an important partner in the anti-terrorism issue at a new stage and strive to repair the damaged bilateral relations.Pakistan began to implement a policy of peace talks with terrorists.Pakistan launched a military cleanup operation codenamed “Zarb-e-Azb” in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas(FATA)in which terrorists were involved. In addition, the United States continues to provide Pakistan with assistance in economic, military, and other fields.Pakistan also cooperates with the United States in counter-terrorism in areas such as counter-terrorism intelligence and land transport routes. However, due to the different national interests and regional strategies of the two countries, the process of counter-terrorism cooperation is still confronted with many contradictions. This article mainly introduces the background and content of Obama's second term US-Pakistani anti-terrorist cooperation, and forecasts the future prospects of anti-terrorism cooperation between the two countries.
