Study On Citizen Participation From The Perspective Of Social Capital In Urban Community Governance

As the political,economic and cultural center of a country,city represents the development of a country.And as the most basic part of a city,the community undertakes the task of solving various social problems.The governance of the urban community plays a very important role in China,which is in the critical period of transition.With the further advancement of our country's community construction,the main body of community governance is increasingly diversified,and the dominant position of community residents who are directly related to the community's interests is also becoming more prominent.The increasing public participation in community governance plays an important role in achieving effective governance and accelerating the process of democratization in our country.Social capital is a new academic analysis tool developed in 1980 s,it emphasizes the importance of trust,reciprocal rules and the network of participation.Originally,Social capital was used in the field of sociology,and then gradually introduced into the field of economics and public administration to explain social phenomena and problems.This article introduces the perspective of social capital to analysis the citizen participation in urban community.This article includes two sections: an introduction and five chapters.Introduction discusses the background,purpose,significance,literature review,ways of research,and the framework.The first chapter is about the basic concepts and related theories.The second chapter analyzes the process of citizen participation in community governance.The third part builds the framework of this research by summarizing the factors that affect the citizen participation in community governance,and then transforms these factors into specific variables in social capital.The next part analyzes the constitution of the social capital of the current Chinese community residents.In the last chapter of the article,I put forward some suggestions on accumulating community social capital to promote citizen participation in community governance.
