Research On The Mechanism Of Community Social Capital On Residents' Participation In Governance

Whether in the international or domestic academic circles,scholars generally believe that community social capital has a positive impact on community residents’ participation.However,there is currently no unified conclusion on how this impact works.Similarly,the magnitude and importance of this impact is still There are different opinions.This study hopes to compare the two types of communities and study the community residents’ participation in governance from the perspective of community social capital,hoping to further quantify the role of community social capital in it,and explore the improvement of community construction and community governance.Enlightenment and method.By studying the influence mechanism of community social capital factors on residents’ participation in governance,this paper provides effective suggestions for promoting the modernization of grassroots social governance,and provides new materials for the Sinicization of social capital theory.Through the analysis of the status quo of community participation,this research found the current problems of community governance in our country.Research from the perspective of community social capital can more effectively promote the establishment and development of a diversified governance system,stimulate residents’ participation,strengthen residents’ role in community governance,and promote Community harmony.Based on Putnam’s social capital theory,this paper draws on Chen Jie and Lu Chunlong’s research on generic social capital and specific social capital,and divides community social capital into objective and explicit social capital(volunteerism,community associations,and social capital).Community reciprocity)and subjective implicit social capital(community sense of belonging,community cohesion,community relationship network and community trust)are two dimensions to explore the role mechanism of community social capital in residents’ participation in community governance.This article takes the waste classification of W community and F community as examples to analyze the role of community social capital when residents participate in community governance.The social capital of the community connects a close network structure in the case of garbage classification,and establishes a sense of self-discipline and mutual benefit and the trust of acquaintances of mutual assistance and cooperation.In the case of residents participating in community governance,the problems of individual rationality affecting collective goals,lack of formal norms,and uneven social relationship networks are analyzed.The study found that there are three mechanisms for the impact of community social capital on residents’ participation in governance:First,residents participate in the dynamic mechanism.It is necessary to have entities with high community social capital stocks as representatives for active consultation and communication;second,residents’ interaction and coordination mechanism.It is necessary to rely on the joint efforts of professional organizations and representatives of all parties to coordinate the forces of all parties so that the forces within the community can be used to promote efficient governance;third,the residents’ supervision and feedback mechanism.Residents formulate relevant rules within the community so that the governance effect can last for a long time.In addition,community residents still need to conduct daily supervision and maintenance on it to ensure the efficiency and purpose of governance,and maximize the governance environment and governance effectiveness of the community.Based on the problems found in the case of residents participating in community governance,this paper proposes four optimization paths for residents to participate in community governance mechanisms through the relevant theories of community social capital.First,deepen the involvement of community social capital in residents’ participation.Introduce measures such as external social organizations,internal forces to take the lead,active participation of all parties,active publicity and other measures to unite multiple subjects,gather community consensus,form a multi-party joint force,and promote the smooth development of community events;second,enhance the dynamic mechanism of residents’ participation.Cultivate collective rationality,break through the limitations of individual rational thinking,improve participation awareness and ability,and enhance residents’ sense of belonging;third,enhance the residents’ interaction and coordination mechanism.In the social interaction of community members,strengthen the trust of residents,stimulate their sense of community ownership,cultivate a good community atmosphere,strengthen the relationship network,and allow community residents to promote the formation of their sense of identity in a good community atmosphere;fourth,improve the supervision and feedback mechanism.The formation of objective norms can increase the sense of identity within the organization,improve organizational efficiency,and play an important role in improving residents’ autonomy.Complete supervision and feedback are inseparable from the active participation of residents,which further increases the residents’ sense of belonging to the community.The main contribution of this article is to further analyze the mechanism of community social capital in community governance by comparing two types of communities,and explain its mechanism,in order to highlight the role of community residents in grassroots community governance.Promote the modernization of grassroots social governance and provide effective suggestions.In future research,we should continue to expand survey samples and types,form corresponding scales,and use time series data for analysis.In the author’s investigation,it was also found that there is a government-led power and responsibility division mechanism,organization training mechanism and residents’ participation in community autonomy in community governance,which is not compatible with each other,and further research is needed.
