During the Qing Dynasty, the Qing dynasty achieved a “universal reunification” of the territory through a series of effective dominance measures. However, with the decline of the national power, the backwardness of the feudal system has also gradually revealed that China has also gradually lagging behind Western countries.Until the full-scale outbreak of frontier crisis, the invasion of the great powers threatened the rule of the Manchu, and it became clear to the Qing Dynasty that the traditional frontier governance policies could no longer meet the needs of safeguarding China's territorial sovereignty and integrity, and thus tried to strengthen it by implementing the integration policy of the border regions in the interior.Central government rule over the border areas. In the 1960 s and 1970 s,there was a famous battle between coastal defense and defense in the Qing dynasty. After this dispute, the Qing Dynasty established a strategy of equal emphasis on Seychelles, which promoted the establishment of provincial systems in Xinjiang and Taiwan. The Emergence of Maritime Consciousness in Modern Times. In order to ease the emptiness of the border areas and the financial crisis, the Qing government began to implement the policy of liberalizing Mongolia and implemented the “New Deal” and immigrant resettlement policies in the Northeast.Although the Qing government gradually changed the traditional border governance policy of “rule by custom” in the process of governance, the subjective policy mistakes of the Qing government resulted in the continuous failure of the country's frontier management policies in the late Qing Dynasty.Summarizing the causes of the mistakes in China's border control policies during the late Qing Dynasty, the invasion of the powers was the external cause. The decline of the national strength of the Qing Dynasty, the restraint of the traditional frontier concept, the intensification of ethnic conflicts, and the dislocation of the border policies were important internal reasons.Through analyzing the mistakes and causes of China's border-control policy in the late Qing Dynasty,we summarized the lessons and warnings in it,and thus realized more deeply the importance of border governance and its special status in national governance, and revolved around the modernization of national governance capabilities and governance systems. To carry out the frontier governance and continuously build a more complete frontier policy system guided by the needs of the country's governance, and finally achieve "good governance" in the border areas.
