The Western Society experienced changes in the 11 th and 12 th century,and the legal system was reintegrated in the contradiction between history and the times.In terms of society andeconomics,the traditional knowledge and rules couldn't adapt to the new social relations because of the rise of industries and businesses.In terms of politics and power,the game between papal authority and imperial power,the "Facing and accepting challenge" model promote the formation of a new order in the Middle Ages.The authority of the church had been gradually standardized in legal terms.As an important part of the Pope's power theory,Gratian's Decretum is an innovative model of early compilation of canonical collections.In the aspects of culture and intellectual,with the rise of the tide of knowledge,there was gradually a systematic canon law.Gratian a teacher of Bologna law school drew on the method of The School of Glossatorsannotating the school of law,completing the monumental work Decretum.Gratian's Decretum activated the system of medievalecclesiastical law.It was the first jurisprudential treatise of canon law,which was regarded as the academic origin of jurisprudence.In church affairs,it is an important reference for the ecclesiastical law.As an important part of the development of Western legal traditions,it was the academic focus of jurisprudence at that time.In law schools of universities,it was a required textbook for law students.With the emergence of a large number of related glosses,commentaries,dissertations,and monographs,there were decretists who specialized in the study of the church law.The paper is based on the differentiating and interpretation of the basic situation of Decretum,trying to outline the important role of Decretum in school teaching and social traditions,and to explore its laying foundation for the formation of medieval ecclesiastical legal system.To penetrate the social dimension,the paper revolves around the “moral dilemma” and explores the operational procedures and morality of Decretum as a secular “redemption” order.From the perspective of cultural pedagogy,the paper explains the new order that initiated by Decretum enables individuals acquire self-consciousness in experiencing "experience","understanding","cultivation" and "awakening",which provide the experience of history and culture,the life of individuals,these help the achievement of individual education,and promote the formation of cultural tradition.
