Pedestrians,as the weaklings among the traffic participants,are more prone to be injured by traffic accidents.Traffic conflicts between pedestrians and right-turn vehicles are often occur at signalized intersections is one of the main factors influencing traffic safety.Traffic conflict,as an unsafe traffic phenomenon,is caused by an unclear relationship at intersections and lack of effective traffic management measures.By studying the traffic conflicts between pedestrians and motor vehicles,it is of great significance to improve the order of intersections,enhance the traffic safety and capacity of intersections.Firstly,the data of traffic conflicts between pedestrians and right-turn vehicles at signalized intersections are collected by video recording.The main influencing factors and the conflict characteristics between pedestrians and motor vehicles are analyzed by using traffic conflict analysis technology.By analyzing the cumulative frequency curve of vehicle's Time-toCollision,the boundary between serious conflicts and non-serious conflicts caused by motor vehicles is obtained.Through the analysis of pedestrian behavior in the conflicts,it is found that the conflict behavior of the pedestrian changes with the increase of conflict severity,and concurrently,the conflict behavior of pedestrians will also be affected by conflict delays.Then,through the establishment of a function of time utility and safety utility,noncooperative static game model of the pedestrian and motor vehicles is proposed.There is a linear-function relationship between the safety effects of pedestrians and the deceleration of motor vehicles in conflict;the time utility of pedestrians is related to the delay of waiting.When the value is below the tolerable threshold of waiting across the street,a linear function is present between the utility of time and the delay of waiting.When the value is greater than tolerable threshold of the cross-street waiting,the utility of time and the delay of waiting show a quadratic-function relationship.The safety utility of motor vehicle is the linear function of the distance between vehicles and pedestrians and the conflict point,and the relationship between the time utility and the waiting delay is a linear function.Finally,through the practical case study,the conflict between pedestrians and motor vehicles is described by the game model constructed in this paper.And according to the equilibrium results and utility analysis,traffic management strategy is put forward.The safety degree of pedestrian crossing streets can be improved by increasing the deterrent force of traffic law enforcement to vehicle violations,standardizing the driving track of right-turn vehicles and limiting the speed of right-turns and other traffic management measures.
