Social Work Intervention In Improving Community Senior Citizens' Willingness In Volunteer Service

The aging of the population has become the focus of the current world.All governments in various countries are taking active measures to alleviate the pressure brought about by aging on society.As a populous country in the world,China has taken the brunt of becoming a country with a more serious aging problem due to the fertility policy adopted at a special time.This reality has also prompted many scholars to begin to pay attention to the potential value of this large social group-the elderly.The value of the elderly is mainly achieved through social participation.At present,most of social participation is concentrated in the field of volunteer service.China has entered the preliminary stage of volunteer service for the elderly and is aware that the elderly play an irreplaceable role.However,because there is no normative guidance and organization,the elderly are still scattered in the field of voluntary services.Homogenized volunteer service activities have also made older people gradually lose their enthusiasm,and their enthusiasm has diminished.How to improve the volunteer willingness to participate in the urban community is a problem that needs to be solved urgently.With the advocacy of the “small government,big society”concept,the society should focus on its own functions,build a community-based carrier,build a platform for volunteer service for the elderly in the urban community,and rely on the theoretical basis and skill advantages of the social work in professional services.In order to improve the willingness to participate in voluntary service activities,the professional social work organization is introduced into the volunteer service activities of the elderly.This article will select 15 elderly people aged between 60 and 75 in the X community of Licang District of Qingdao as the main interview subjects,and select 2 staff from the community neighborhood committees and 1 social workers who are in the X social work service center as an assistant interview,In-depth understanding of the current status of volunteer activities in the X community and their participation.At the same time,through the statistical analysis of the questionnaires,the current situation of voluntary willingness to participate in voluntary services was analyzed from the aspect of the number of participants,frequency,participation forms,and subjective feelings of the elderly after participation.It was found that the willingness of the elderly to participate in voluntary service activities Low,active participation is not strong.Using the interview data and questionnaire survey results,it was concluded that the low willingness of volunteers to participate in volunteers in this community was mainly due to the lack of knowledge of volunteer services and their lack of volunteer service skills.In view of the shortcomings of the willingness of the elderly to participate in volunteer service,we actively explore the path to improve the willingness of the elderly to participate in voluntary service by social work.This article uses group work and community work methods.In order to enrich the voluntary service activities of the elderly,help the elderly to better participate in voluntary service activities to provide countermeasures and suggestions,but also to achieve the old sense of well-being,the practical significance of the old and useful.It actively promoted the embedding of social work into the community,and promoted the standardization of China's elderly population to participate in voluntary service activities.At the same time,we have also realized the application of social work theory to practice.
