Internet Political Participation:Analysis Of The New Type Of Political Participation

Since the 1950 s,human society has entered an information era with computer as its main representative.With the rapid development of the Internet in the world,it has far-reaching effects on the political,economic,cultural and social life.In particular,it has a profound impact on modern democratic politics.As the core of modern democratic politics,political participation is a measure of the degree of development of a country's democratic politics.The arrival of the information age has brought about innovations in the main channels and means and subject of political participation.This kind of innovation has not only created a new environment for the development of democratic politics,but also brought entirely new challenges to social stability and government governance.Based on the characteristics of Internet such as globalization,openness,equality and virtualization,this article further analyzes the value of democracy in the Internet age and the centralized embodiment of Internet democracy: the participation of Internet politics.Since the mid-90 s of the 20 th century,China entered the Internet era.The development of economic system reform and democratic politics has continuously promoted the rise and development of China's Internet political participation.This article analyzes the four special subjects of the Internet political participation in China,expounds the characteristics of political participation of contemporary college students,social elites and intellectuals,labor groups and Internet water army and their negative effects on democratic politics.At the same time,by explaining the characteristics and causes of political participation,it reveals the function and anomie of Internet political participation.As an expression platform of diversified interests during the social transition,the Internet can ease social conflicts to a certain extent,maintain social stability,improve the ability of citizens to participate in politics and strengthen supervision to government authority.However,the digital divide caused by the unbalanced economic development and the social stratification unbalance the structure of participants.lacking information resources resulting in marginalization of the Information poor on the Internet political participation.Meanwhile,the absence of civic rationality will undermine social stability and development.As a new type of political participation outside China's system,Internet political participation has a profound impact on the development of democratic politics in China.Our government has become more standardized and institutionalized in the management of online political participation.However,in response to the negative effect of online political participation,there still exist some problems such as abuse of power.This article attempts to elaborate from the perspective of government governance,by advocating to create an open and orderly macro environment,strengthen the network legislation,broaden the channel of political participation,establish and improve the system of publicizing information,strengthen civil network political literacy education and make good public opinion guidance,we can promote the healthy development of the Internet political participation,maximize its positive effect on our country's democratic politics and build a higher-level socialist political civilization in the new era.
