Reports On The Issue Of Sexual Assault Children In China's Mainstream Media

In recent years,sexual abuse of children has become one of the most important social issues in the process of building a harmonious society in our country.From "the famous singer of red bean molestation boy case" to " the security of Guangzhou kindergarten lewd girl case",and then to " the principals scandal case in Wanning city","Dazhou officials rape young girl case"and so on.These frequent incidents of sexual assault on children torture human public order and good customs.Meanwhile,they also ignited the news media's attention to the incident of" sexual assault on children.This study employ the content analysis method,supplemented by certain text analysis.It systematically studies the sexual abuse of children news published in the three mainstream media over the 16 years from 2000 to 2016 with a view to exploring the media construction and presentation of collective memory of sexual abuse of children.Specific topics include: the media on the "sexual abuse of children," the memory of the performance of the track,construction changes and construction strategy.The study found that the most commonly used format of the media in presenting sexual assaults was to obtain news clues from a primary source and report it in the form of news or communication,In these reports,the media is particularly interested in the identity of the suspect as a government official,while presenting an imbalance in the sex of the victimized children.What's more,on the construction track,China's news media presentation for the social memory of sexual-abused children witnessed the process from simple introduction to open pluralism;In the construction strategy,the media employed a ritual presentation and layout strategy when reporting the cases concerning sexual-abused children;legal system and education has become the mainstream framework for media to report cases about sexual-abused children.Based on considerations of modern journalism ethics,the media tend to place the reappearance of trauma and trauma treatment under two opposite position,and to cover the traumatic narration concerning abused children.
