Analysis On The Willingness Of Migrant Workers To Settle Down In Shanghai

Shanghai is China’s "international economic center" and "financial center","trade center","shipping center","science and technology innovation center",the Shanghai has the strong ability of absorbing rural surplus labor force,at the same time for the rural surplus labor force to provide more employment opportunities,become the important carrier to promote the development of urban and rural integration.However,the relocation of the migrant agricultural population to big cities will inevitably bring some problems to the cities,and the resource allocation and social security problems of big cities will be highlighted continuously.At the same time,the cost of living and the living pressure to bear for the migrant agricultural population to settle in cities will be raised,and the threshold for settling in cities will be higher.The emergence of the new generation of migrant workers from the post-80 s and post-90 s generation makes a significant difference between the generations of migrant workers.This paper mainly investigates the new generation of migrant workers in MinHang district,SongJiang district and BaoShan district of Shanghai,conducts an empirical study on their intention to settle down in the city,and analyzes the factors influencing the willingness of migrant workers in Shanghai to settle down in the city.The first question is the reason for promoting migrant workers to settle in Shanghai,the second is the willingness of migrant workers to settle in Shanghai,and the third is the reason for affecting the willingness of migrant workers to settle in Shanghai.Conclusion: first,Shanghai has a high level of economic development,and a large number of migrant workers are needed for urban development and construction.At the same time,Shanghai has a large absorption capacity and a high level of public services and social security,which is an important carrier for promoting the urbanization process and can provide a reference for other regions to absorb the migrant agricultural population.Second,the migrant workers in Shanghai has a strong will,mainly distributed in the suburb of Shanghai,but a larger gap between ideal and reality,migrant workers in Shanghai in terms of settled in the city there are many influence factors,mainly divides into four aspects:(1)personal characteristics,including their gender,age,culture level,migrant workers time and so on;(2)psychological factors,including city sense of belonging and identity;(3)employment economic factors,including employment,income,cost of living,housing price,land disposal method,etc.;(4)social factors,including social security situation,children education problem,living situation,etc.Based on the analysis of the factorsinfluencing the willingness of migrant workers to settle down in Shanghai and the previous research results,this paper puts forward Suggestions to improve the willingness of migrant workers to settle down in Shanghai.(3)establish the security policy system after migrant workers settle down;(4)promote the public view and cultivate the awareness of migrant workers.It is expected to realize the citizenization of migrant workers in Shanghai,improve the overall level of migrant workers,relieve the worries of migrant workers,increase the enthusiasm of migrant workers to settle in Shanghai,and at the same time promote the normal transfer of land,realize the role of farmers to citizens,and more importantly,provide reference for other large cities to realize the citizenization of migrant workers.
