Study On The "Jihadi Brides" Of The Islamic State

Since 2013,the rapid expansion of the Islamic State has made it the world's most influential terrorist organization.In the name of the establishment of “caliphate”,Islamic State calls Muslim around the world to fight for the “nation”.At its peak,Islamic State controlled about half the territory of Syria and Iraq.At the end of 2014,the United States formed an international coalition to fight against the Islamic State.Subsequently,Russia joined in the fight against the Islamic State.The Islamic State has suffered heavy hits from the international community.In December 2018,US President Donald trump claimed that the Islamic State was defeated and announced the troop withdrawal from Syria.“jihadi brides” have played more important roles.While the Islamic State advocates a strict adherence to sharia law,strategic considerations such as the effectiveness of female terrorism have allowed “jihadi brides” to play roles like propagandist and recruiter,policewoman and female fighter.Islamic State is the first religious terrorist organization that allow “jihadi brides” to play such diverse roles.Therefore,it's significant to study on the “jihadi brides”,which is also the core aim of this thesis.The main body of this thesis has been divided into four chapters.Chapter one mainly studies on the general situation of “jihadi brides”.The first part introduces the rise and fall of the Islamic State;The second part introduce the basic information of these women;The third part briefly introduced the situation of these women.Chapter two focus on the women's motivation.We will concentrate on the reasons from the Islamic State and the reasons from their native countries.Chapter three studies on the roles and influences of the “jihadi brides”.The first part mainly discusses the basic roles,social roles and "jihad" roles of “jihadi brides”.The second part analysis influences of the “jihadi brides”,mainly from the effects in Islamic State and the influences to the world.Chapter four concentrates on the situation of the “jihadi brides” after the fall of the Islamic State.These women suffered.Due to the women's extreme ideology and the difficulties in identifying them,many countries chose to refuse their return.In conclusion,we think that women's roles in the Islamic State are different from those in other religious terrorist organizations.They play more diverse and active roles in the Islamic State.
