Since normalization,China-Vietnam bilateral relations have generally shown positive interaction. From the longitudinal analysis of the period, positive and positive trends are the overall development trends and characteristics of China-Vietnam relations. However, due to historical and realistic factors of territorial disputes, from the perspective of simultaneous horizontal analysis, compared with China’s relations with other neighboring countries,Sino-Vietnamese relations are the most "sensitive" and complex pair in China’s relations with neighboring countries. The history of exchanges between China and Vietnam for more than 3,000 years also shows that Sino-Vietnamese relations are not in a state of complete harmony, and the escalation of conflicts to small-scale wars is also an unavoidable historical fact in Sino-Vietnamese relations."Combining two profits and fighting two injuries" is a historical iron law of Sino-Vietnamese relations.According to Brantly womake’s asymmetric theory, the pattern and process of interaction between China and Vietnam after normalization. This study divides the relations between China and Vietnam into two major periods after normalization. The first period from 1991 to the end of 2008 was an asymmetric period of normalization.During this period, the relations between the two countries have gone through a gradual stage of development from grinding and strengthening mutual trust to a "golden period" of long-term stability.Among them, from 1991 to 1999,the history of normalization of China-Vietnam relations.Under the irreversible trend of normalization,China-Vietnam relations have been able to reshape good-neighborly relations under the new quality foundation and framework; From 1999 to the end of 2008,it was the "golden" period of Sino-Vietnamese relations. This is a "mature asymmetric period" of Sino-Vietnamese relations. The second period from 2009 to 2017 was a sensitive asymmetric period in Sino-Vietnamese relations.During the period, due to the continuous fermentation of the South China Sea issue between China and Vietnam, the relationship between the two countries has experienced a large "V" shape development. From 2009 to mid-2014,China-Vietnam relations experienced a significant decline until the "bottom".From 2015 to 2017,China-Vietnam relations once again experienced a "stalemate" to a turnaround and then a significant warming. It is the main academic exploration and thinking in this study to investigate the nature of sino-vietnamese relations after normalization and explore the influence of asymmetric structures on the cognition and behavior of the two countries. |
