At present,China's regional economic development is facing a serious imbalance.Like the regional economic development, there is also an imbalance in the development of social security between provinces in China. It is of great significance to study the regional differences of social security level for perfecting the social security system and system construction in China. Therefore, the difference of social security level among provinces, the source of regional differences and what factors affect the development of social security level is the focus of this paper.Firstly, the paper reviews and combs the development process of social security system, and analyses the current situation of social security level in China by using ArcGIS visualization method, and draws a conclusion that there are certain regional differences in social security level in China, which is a reference to the regional differences of social security level in the future. It provides a theoretical basis.Secondly, the Dagum Gini coefficient and its sub-group decomposition method are used to decompose the regional differences into intra-regional differences, interregional differences and over-variable density. The results show that: from the overall differences, the overall Gini coefficient of China's social security level shows a trend of first rising, then declining and then rising;from the regional differences, the regional differences of social security level in the three major regions in China from large to small are the eastern region, the western region and the central region in turn;from the regional differences; From the point of view of difference, the regional difference of social security level in China shows a downward and upward trend of repeated instability, and the regional difference is in turn the eastern and Western regions, the eastern and central regions, the central and Western regions. The main source of regional differences.Subsequently, the results of Kernel density estimation show that the social security level of the whole country, the eastern, central and western regions has improved;the regional differences of social security level among the eastern, central and western regions have expanded, and there is a phenomenon of multi-level differentiation in the central region.Thirdly,in terms of the influencing factors of regional differences in social security level, through panel data regression method,it is concluded that population aging, education level of residents, unemployed population, government finance, urbanization level have different effects on the development of social security level in Chengdu, and there is a positivecorrelation between them. There is a negative correlation between economic development level and social security level, and all the influencing factors have passed the conclusion of significant test. Finally, according to the status quo of social security and empirical analysis,we put forward: first, improve the social security system, increase financial input;second, promote the coordinated development of regional economy;third, improve the overall quality of residents, accelerate urbanization;fourth, build a standardized transfer payment system;Five,it is a clear division of financial responsibilities between governments.
