Japan’s "National Normalization" And China’s Countermeasures

After the cold war,Japan faced internal and external difficulties.After the "bubble economy" burst,Japan experienced a lost decade.In the gulf war,Japan actively participated in the war and provided high amount of emergency aid to the us Allies,but failed to win the recognition of its Allies.The post-war national strategy could not meet the needs of Japan’s national development,and many Japanese policymakers and opinion leaders called on Japan to achieve "National Normalization".The so-called "normal state" has always been discussed around the core of national interests.This paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the connotation of "national normalization" in Japan,and differentiates the stage characteristics of the implementation of this strategy.From the recovery of national economy,the reform of domestic system,the continuous breakthrough in the diplomatic field to becoming a real "political power",the implementation of Japan’s strategy of "national normalization" has been constantly promoted.The successive cabinets did not express the idea of "normalization",but put the implementation steps proposed by Ozawa into action,and derived new diplomatic achievements of values diplomacy and the concept of east Asian community.The strengthening of the centralized power of the liberal Democratic Party of Japan,the expansion of the right-wing forces,and the formation of the cabinet "prime minister’s residence" mode provided a favorable environment for the implementation of Japan’s "National Normalization".However,the complicated domestic and international situation also make Japan face various challenges in realizing "National Normalization".At the same time,restricted by the framework of japan-us alliance,Japan is constrained by the complicated great power relations around it,and Japan’s strategic space is narrow.Foreign public opinion against the constant,contrary to public opinion insisted on the implementation of greater difficulty.Many factors make it difficult for Japan to become a "normal country" in a short term.Japan’s "Normalization" views and its aggressive military security policies put neighbor countries on alert and,to some extent,uneasy about Japan’s true intentions under the framework of normalization.This paper takes China’s attitude towards "National Normalization" as the key point,elaborates the important links that China pays attention to in the implementation of this theory,and puts forward countermeasures conducive to bilateral relations and international stability.
