The topic to be explored in this paper is Marx's exploration and analysis of the transcendence of Western individualism. This paper examines the concept of Western individualism, combs the historical background, and analyzes its theoretical basis, and then examines modern individualism into the vision of Marxist philosophy, and grasps Western capitalism in Marxist criticism and the true face of individualism under the system. This article mainly discusses it separately through four chapters:The first chapter explores the historical background of individualism. This part will explore the two historical backgrounds of individualism, namely the rise of humanism and the emergence of capitalist mode of production. As a kind of ideological trend, modern individualism has its historical roots.First of all,the concept of individualism originated from the awakening of the subjectivity of the Renaissance. After 1500 years of medieval Christian rule, major changes have taken place in modern European society. In this process of dilapidation and newness, the Renaissance, the Reformation and the Enlightenment have come one after another. The awakening of the subjective spirit and the independence and autonomy of personality have begun to promote history.Driven, individualistic ideas are formed and evolved.Secondly, individualism is gradually developed along with the emergence of capitalist production methods. If the individualism is only in the mind during the Renaissance, the emergence of capitalist production methods makes individualism practical.carry out.The second chapter explores the meaning of individualism and its theoretical basis.First of all, through the historical traceability of the concept of Western individualism, and the analysis of the different connotations of individualism in different countries in the West,we have a deeper understanding of the concept of individualism.Secondly,on the basis of understanding its concept,it analyzes the theoretical basis of individualism. This part is mainly carried out from the following three aspects, namely, the human nature of individualism, the relationship between individuals and society, and the choice of value. These three aspects are the basis for the establishment of modern individualistic theory of thought. The third chapter makes an objective evaluation of the social impact of Western modern individualism. This part is divided into three parts: Firstly,it summarizes the historical progress of Western individual individualism, and the emergence of individualism has important significance to the political, economic and cultural aspects of Western capitalist society.Second, summarize the harm caused by individualism. With the development of capitalist society, individualism has gone to extreme self-interest.Finally,in response to the social problems arising from individualism,Western scholars have reflected and criticized individualism from different angles, and tried to find the method of individualism to save, but in the end failed to fundamentally eliminate the drawbacks of individualism. The fourth chapter discusses the transcendence of Marx to modern individualism. This part mainly reflects the critical foundation of modern western individualism theory from the perspective of Marx. This part first criticizes the atomic understanding of modern individualism on individuals. It believes that the individual in the presupposition of individualism is an abstract person or atomic person who has drawn away from social relations. It artificially separates the individual from the environment and the existing social relationship.Isolated,so this theory of the individual's understanding is "the fiction of the 18 th century, which lacks imagination." On this basis,Marx proceed from the realistic production relations of human beings to demonstrate the essence of the "relationships" and "social people",and believe that the essence of human beings is the sum of all social relations, and then put forward the dialectic of individuals and society.Unified values. And in his communist theory,it is proposed that by eliminating capitalist private ownership and division of labor,we can get rid of the alienation of people brought about by individualism, and individuals can truly move toward freedom and truly achieve comprehensive development.
