Compilation And Analysis Of Human Development Index Across All The Chinese Provinces And Municipalities

For more than forty years of reform and opening-up,China's economic develops rapidly,and china has become the second largest export country in the world.China's economic development speed is amazing.However,we just use GDP level as the single indicator to measure the human development,today.And there are many defects when using GDP level to measure human development.So Chinese scholars discuss more and more about that how to measure China's development effectively.The United Nations and national experts put forward many valuable measurement measurement indicators and methods,and these methods' indicators have developed from a single indicator to multiple system indicators when evaluating national economic and social development level.Based on the above situation,the United Nations development program(UNDP)put forward the human development index in 1990.It covers the content of GDP,but not only GDP' content,and It resolves the shortcoming that using GDP level as a single indicator measures the human development.Since the human development index was proposed,it has been widely used.Human development index stressed that the people is a nation's true wealth,the development goal is to create a living environment where people have the freedom to enjoy a healthy and creative long life,and at the same time to expand people's choices,improve people's lives level,including improving people's examine ability such as knowledge,healthy body,etc.,as well as their ability to use,such as work,leisure,etc.That is the human development goal.So,this paper calculates the human development index of various provinces and municipalities in China,based on the existing statistical data.Based on the latest calculation method published by the United Nations development program in 2018 and China's national conditions,this paper conducts thehuman development index suitable for China's national conditions,with corresponding processing on the detailed index,and finally calculates the data of China from 1990 to2017 on this basis.As the calculation method of human development index has changed dramatically over time,the index data from 1990 to now are all calculated according to the latest method up to that year.Since the new calculation rule appears,the indexes in previous years have not been modified accordingly,so there is no longitudinal comparability.The indices in this paper are all calculated according to the latest methods,so longitudinal comparison can be made.At the same time,due to China's vast territory and large regional differences,how to reduce regional differences has been a concern of the government.This paper will calculate every provinces ' HDI index,and study the differences between provinces and cities.And this paper will further explore factors that affecting human development level by using the panel model.Then this paper gives some corresponding policy suggestions.
