Study On The Regional Economic Disparity And Harmonized Development In Anhui Province

As an undeveloped Province in central china, with great regional economic disparity, Anhui Province is facing great pressure in order to gain a quick and harmonized development. I suppose it is of much practical meaning to carry out the research into this issue.The thesis discusses the process of the divergence change, the spatial pattern of regional economy, the contribution of spatial factor to regional economic disparity, the contribution of different industry to regional economic disparity in Anhui Province. Hare are the findings: (1) The regional economy disparity has been expanding constantly since 1998, and the enlargement of the regional economy disparity is favorable to the improvement of the whole economic level. Economic development of Anhui Province is at a non- balanced developing stage; (2)There exists a distinct spatial disparity regarding both the level and the speed of development in Anhui Province, with the south higher than the north, and the urban areas higher than the county areas; (3) The contribution of district internal disparity to regional economic disparity is the greatest, more than 60%, showing a tendency to decline; The contribution of inter-district factor to regional disparity is the second, more than 30%, tending to expand. Regional economic development displays the phenomenon of " club convergence "; (4) From the angle of the three industries, the influence of Secondary industry to the disparities is decisive and is becoming wider and wider. The influence of tertiary industry to the disparities is at the second place and is becoming smaller and smaller. The influence of primary industry to the disparities is rarely. Then I further analyzed the cause of provincial regional disparity from natural, historical foundation, culture, growth and quality of the population, economic structure, market-based degree, ability of government, development level of city, and so on.Having finished the above work, I try to compare the provincial regional disparity in Anhui with that of other province, especially Jiangsu province, which is...
