The Relationship Between Time Perspective And Social Adaptation Of Community Correction Offenders Moderating Effect Of Family Functioning

Objective: To investigate the relationship between time perspective and social adaptation of community correction offenders and the moderating role of family functioning in this relationship.Methods: Community correction offenders in a district of Hunan province and a county of Anhui province were tested by general information questionnaire for community correction offenders,Zimbardo Time perspective questionnaire translated and revised by Wang Chen,family function rating scale revised by Liu Peiyi and He Mutao,and social adaptation scale for re-education through labor compiled by Liu Chaoying.A total of 500 questionnaires were issued,and 432 valid questionnaires were recovered,with an effective rate of 86.4%.Results:(1)There are significant differences in the social adaptation of community correction offenders personnel in terms of age,education level,survival skills,employment and economic income,living conditions,and family members' attitude towards community correction offenders.(2)There was a significant correlation between the time perspective of community correction offenders and social adaptation.The past time perspective,in addition to the dimension and the social negative adapt to the work and human satisfaction no significant correlation between these two dimensions,the past negative dimensions,now impulse dimension,now destiny dimensions and significant negative correlation exists between social adaptation,the positive dimension and future dimension and a significant positive correlation between social adaptation;Time perspective in addition to the negative function of the dimension and family problem solving this dimension outside,there is no correlation between the time perspective of the past negative dimensions,now impulse dimension,now destiny dimensions and a significant positive correlation between family function,past and future these two dimensions with family all dimensions and family function has significantly negative correlation between total score;There was a significant negative correlation between family function and social adaptation.(3)After controlling for age,education level,survival skills,living conditions,employment and economic income as well as family members' attitudes towards community correction offenders,emotional responses and overal functional dimensions in family function play a significant moderating role between negative dimensions in time perspective and social adaptation.The dimensions of communication,role,emotional response and emotional involvement in family function play a significant role in the adjustment between the past positive dimension of time perspective and social adaptation.The behavioral control dimension of family function plays a significant role in the adjustment between the present impulse dimension of time perspective and social adaptation.The total functional dimension of family function plays a significant regulating role between the present fatalistic dimension of time perspective and social adaptation.Conclusion:(1)In terms of the social adaptation of community correction offenders,the young ones are higher than the old ones,those with high education level are higher than those with low education level,those with survival skills are higher than those without survival skills,and those with stable economic income sources are higher than those without stable economic income.Those with good living conditions were higher than those with poor living conditions,and those with positive family members' attitude toward community correction offenders were higher than those with negative family members' attitude toward c community correction offenders.(2)The more negative the attitude of community correction offenders towards time(past negative,present impulsive,present fatalistic),the worse their social adaptation,the more positive their attitude towards time(past positive,future),the better their social adaptation;The better the family function is,the higher the social adaptation level will be.(3)After controlling for age,education level,survival skills,living conditions,employment and economic income,and family members' attitudes toward community correction offenders,when the emotional response score of community correction offenders is low,that is,the emotional response level is high;when the total functional score is low,that is,the total functional level is high,the past negative can significantly and negatively predict social adaptation.When the role score of community correction offenders is low,that is,the role level is high,and the emotional response score is low,that is,the emotional response level is high,the past positive can significantly and positively predict the social adaptation.In addition,the improvement of communication level and emotional involvement level of community correction offenders will enhance the predictive power of positive social adaptation in the past.When the behavior control score of the community correction offenders is low,that is,when the behavior control level is high,the present impulse can significantly and negatively predict the social adaptation.When the total functional score of community correction offenders is low,that is,when the total functional level is high,now fatalism can significantly and negatively predict social adaptation.
