The Modi government has been in power since May 2014.It is more proactive in diplomacy on it foiergn policy towards Pakistan emphasizing India's presence in Asia and the world.It has also changed a lot in Pakistan in its foreign policy.Modi's early stage releasing friendly signals to Pakistan,The relationship between the two countries has eased.However,after a brief easing,India and Pakistan are still dominated by conflicts.Since the Modi government came to power,we have seen that the confrontation between the two sides has not been alleviated,but it also become even more tense.The two sides has exchanged fire at the border and Kashmir.Constantly,small-scale conflicts and casualties have occurred and confrontation has become normal.The Modi government has adopted a persistent and tough policy toward Pakistan.And the road to detente relationship between India and Pakistan is difficult.This article takes the evolution of India-Pakistan relations since the Modi government took office as the main research object,and combines the history of India-Pakistan relations with the current stage to analyze the reasons affecting India-Pakistan relations and the future direction of relationship between India and Pakistan.The main part of the first part is the evolution of the relationship between India and Pakistan before the Modi government took office.The two countries broke out a fierce war shortly after the partition.Then they began a long confrontation and broke out three wars.In the latter part of the Cold War,India-Pakistan relations eased and negotiations and dialogues were began.However,by the end of the 20 th century,the two sides had become nuclear countries and opened nuclear confrontation.The bilateral relations have once again become tense.With the development of domestic needs of India and Pakistan and the international situation the bilateral relations have eased.In 2004,the two countries launched a peace process that lasted for several years,but once again staged conflict confrontation.In general,India-Pakistanrelations are in a long-term confrontation,and easing is not obvious.The second part is the evolution of India-Pakistan relations since the Modi government took office.Since Modi took office,the domestic and international situations in India and Pakistan have undergone major changes.The two countries have also changed their policies toward each other.Since 2014,it has experienced four stages of easing,tension,normal confrontation and fierce exchange of fire.The overall feature is instability.The third part analyzes the factors that restrict the evolution of India-Pakistan relations and the conditions for promoting the development of India-Pakistan relations,mainly include the territorial disputes between the two countries in Kashmir,the differences in combating terrorism and the contradictions and territorial contradictions in safeguarding territorial security.The needs of the political and economic development of India and Pakistan and the promotion of international powers are also conducive to the easing of India-Pakistan relations.The fourth part is about the impact of the evolution of India-Pakistan relations on two sides,the situation in South Asia,and international relations.At the same time,it explores the future development of India-Pakistan relations.One is that the current fierce exchanges between India and Pakistan will ease in the short term.The two countries have returned to calm,but it is difficult to ease the relationship between India and Pakistan from a long time.It will continue to maintain conflicts and ease the state of constant exchange.The future of India-Pakistan relations is difficult.
